About Danielle

Danielle Lyn is a senior at Florida International University in Miami, Florida, USA working towards a Bachelor of Arts in Communication with a minor in Global Media.

Outside of the classroom she explores her passion for the world through cultural appreciation. She dreams of visiting indigeneous communities around the world and looks forward to getting to know and understand value systems and ways of life that differ from her own Jamaican-American background.

On weekends you can find Danielle anywhere outside, planning her next trip, or watching sports, notably: Team Mercedes (Formula One), The Miami Dolphins (NFL), and the Miami Heat (NBA).

Lyn is adamant about the importance of young adults and members of emerging generations being an active part of the global narrative. As a firm believer of being a global citizen first, she thinks there is a pressing need for individuals to rely on themselves, instead of the common-place news system, to learn about the happenings both within and far beyond their own community.

She hopes to find her niche in journalism; focusing on Global News, World Affairs, International Relations, and Humanitarian Crises. On Lyn's primary website, www.danielle-lyn.com, she maintains a blog dedicated to bringing awareness to various global topics of signifigance.

Danielle Lyn’s ultimate career goals include working for the BBC and bringing an unconventional style of storytelling to the global news market.
